One More, One Less!

Life's a funny thing isn't it?...

Daddy was just musing about an elderly incumbent who used to work for his parents as a 'plongeur' in the kitchen of the restaurant they used to own many years ago. A toothless and emaciated 'old dear' she spoke little and smiled less - she had apparently seen a hard life - and though advanced in years (well into her 70's but looking older) and now living with family, she still chose to spend the long, hot hours slaving over the sink and refilling the industrial dishwasher for a weekly pittance. She was also prone simply to end the day, normally as my Daddy's Daddy dropped her home, with the her regular epithet "One More, One Less"...

Some might observe that it's better to while away the hours (waiting on the Grim Reaper's final hail) actually AT the kitchen sink and up to you neck in dishwasher soap, rather than wasting the end of your alotted span just watching 'kitchen sink' dramas and up to your neck in "Soaps"!

But given Daddy's current 'frame of mind' he is surprised how easily, as the years creep on, the quotidian drudgery, and the close of yet another wearisome day, can so easily become seen as 'one more, one less'!...Anyway...

on to less dour things...

And so - another week has whizzed past, here in 'Sunny Spain'. Our neighbours house - "vecinos" as they are called in Spanish - has a tiled title high on its side wall "Villa Esperanza", it rather boldly claims for a house that hosts (all too often, for a supposed 'summer house', Mami regularly complains) such a lugubrious and doleful looking owner. Daddy says he's going put a 'matching' name-plate up for our casa "Villa Desesperanza"....I think it sounds quite nice!!

The economic climate may be looking frosty, and the weather - whilst still quite pleasantly warm of a day time has begun to betray the hallmarks of impending Autumn as the tile floors once more strike cold upon your shins as you walk about the house (my excuse for running everywhere) and the night air gives way to a sharp chill 'ere the morning sun reappears.

I was 'off school' all week last week due to my 'persistent' feverish cold. I also happily passed it on to Mami - which gave her yet one more thing to moan about incessantly. The only brief respite (Daddy noted...as 'adult moaning' sort of stuff is water-off-a-duck's-back to me) was that for a couple of days her throat was too sore even to speak!

I then went on to pass the cold to Daddy, and even to the cat - Jess - who is also sneezing regularly! (Coincidentally, yet another thing Mami is currently fond of moaning about!)

We are told that this kind of 'bug' will regularly be picked up at school - so as Daddy observes - "Just another 18 years of this then".

Exciting Developments On Site!

But perhaps the most exciting thing that has just happened - at least on Aimee Z's Little TeraPad - is that I have decided (with some help from Papi) to open my shop! I wasn't going to bother with this to start with - but Terapad makes it so easy  (you can get your own Terapad here) it seemed 'churlish' (whatever that means) not too!

Anyway - I have launched my shop with an 'Extremely Unlimited Edition' of prints of some of my 'finer' artworks to date. I like to refer to my current 'style' or 'genre' of artistic creativity as "expressionistic abstractionism"...I fully expect to see the term appearing in text-books by 2020 by which time I (naturally) expect to be a much more highly acclaimed artist...But for now...

...Oh how I love to wield the 'pigment soaked' brush, the 'indelible' pen, the 'hard to remove' wax crayon, the 'permanent' biro, and if need be even the 'good old' pencil...or whatever else I can scrawl (hopefully permanently) on walls, tables, the fireplace with...or whatever is white and ready to be 'inscribed' upon (there's loads of white walls here in Spain so possibilities are endless!)...I also occasionally use PAPER!! to execute my artistic and creative masterpieces...SO...

I have added images of my first four 'selected' works of art to my Gallery - but I have also put these for sale as prints in my shop! I hope you'll consider snapping one up before they are all gone ...I am given to understand, having picked this up from stealing a glance at the many, many, many (that's MANY) pages of drivel that Mami y Papi spend their lives poring over, from 'so-called marketing experts' on the Internet - that I am 'supposed' to make potential purchasers clamor for my stuff by creating a sense of 'urgency and scarcity'...SO...

All I can say is that  - you should buy now - before the total economic collapse of the World banking and investment systems means there is no longer a local or international postal service to send them to you, and also before all the trees run-out from which they make 'copy paper' of the 'high' quality used by Daddy to make the prints I am selling!

In reality what I really want to be able to do, by offering my "Extremely Unlimited Edition" prints, is to do away with the need for Daddy to say "one more, one less" ever again...and replace it by "Plenty, more where that came from!!"

Check out my Shop here and my Gallery here! Thanks - Speak again soon!
